Last night, when i just finished reinstall my laptop (Acer Travelmate 2480) with Window$ XP Professional SP2 the sound didnt goes out from its jack (SPDIF), but if i unplug the 3.5 mm analog jack, the sound clearly heard from the internal speaker. I never experienced like this before. I thought i did a mistake of installing the drivers, but the conditions state the same after i reinstalled all the driver.
I try my linux Ubuntu 8.10 live CD on it, and the clarity of sound goes no problem with it. So, the problem is come from the installed window$ system.
What my head said?
Many pages i’v browsed on google, but i just got standard solutions that didnt solve the problem. But there’s someone wrote a reply on a computer forum (sorry i forgot the address) that gave a ridiculous suggestions; unplug the jack, switch to standby mode, get back in the system and plug the jack in. The Laptop will sing with no problem.
Do the same steps if the problem occurs over.
